NYC doom/rock kingpins THE RESURRECTION SORROW are raking in great reviews of their recently self-released debut album Hour of the Wolf. In support of the release the band will do a short stint of live dates throughout the Northeast this winter with further tour plans to be announced soon.

01/22/2010 Electric Company – Utica, NY
01/29/2010 London Billiards/Club Oasis – Worcester, MA
02/13/2010 Ace of Clubs – New York, NY w/ Hull, Black Pyramid

The New York City-based outfit features a cast of musicians who have collectively spent time in Murphy’s Law, Tides Within, After Dark, Malstrom, Supervillain and more, bringing years of both studio and onstage expertise to the table. THE RESURRECTION SORROW’s Hour of the Wolf was recorded by veteran NYC engineer Joe Hogan (Nebula, The Atomic Bitchwax) and features intense artwork by Seldon Hunt (Melvins, Sunn O))), Neurosis, etc.).

“In a word: Ballsy… This is testosterone driven doom rock that stands out like a high five across the table at a fancy restaurant. Think COC, BLS, Crowbar, some Borgo Pass-style sludge…” – TheObelisk.net

“Hour of the Wolf bolsters the future of Metal.” – Steven Blush (author/filmmaker, American Hardcore)

“…if one were going for an easy description then Cathedral meets COC with a dash of Metallica would probably cover it, but delve a little deeper and there’s more than just stylistic borrowings from the obvious reference points.” 5/5 – RockMidgets.com
