After only a short break since their last jaunt, neo-Spaghetti
Western, neo-psychedelic masters Spindrift are going back on tour,
crossing the country once again as they continue to spread their
gospel of the last of the great unknown. Fresno, Flagstaff, DC
and Chicago are all stopping points, and the March 4
show in Portland also features special guests, and fellow
Beat The World-ers, The Upsidedown.

What people have been saying about Spindrift’s latest release,
The West:

“A mix of psych-rock and the Spaghetti Western sound of Ennio
Morricone equals the perfect soundtrack for your next trip to a
ghost town.” – Paste Online

“I’m not quite sure what parallel universe Spindrift’s music belongs
in — maybe a post-apocalyptic landscape where art movies are projected
across the desert sky while what remains of the flora comes to
life, wielding double-neck bass guitars and autoharps. But I’d
love to visit.” – Buzz Bands

“Not a soundtrack, but cinematic in its own right—a moody, twang-driven
opus full of dark overtones and sun-drenched hysteria.” – Crawdaddy

“Reminiscent of such greats as Ennio Morricone and The Ventures,
Spindrift creates an atmospheric soundscape where desert meets
the sea.” – Evil Monito Magazine

“The New West,” the first leaked track from The West — out this
past fall on Beat The World Records — has been floating around
the internet for a bit now, its eerie, contemplative restraint
finding fans across the country, but “Ace Coltrane,” which was
inspired by an actual person the band met in the California
desert, is fast-paced and invigorating, full of Mexican horns
and twangy country guitar, the quintessentially perfect Spaghetti
Western song. Morricone should be proud, and it’s no wonder that
Tarantino has a song from Spindrift in his recently-produced
Hell Ride.
