Freshly rejuvenated from their recent North American adventures with the legendary Neil Young, Everest has traded the studio for the Interstate and has embarked on a brief West Coast tour. The L.A.-based workhorses, who spent their month “off” writing and tracking new songs, are using this opportunity to road-test their latest creations, including performances alongside Spoon as well as Akron/Family, among others. Immediately following, the quintet will rejoin Young for a handful of Canadian and U.S. dates in April, which will culminate with a performance at Jazz Fest in New Orleans May 2. The additional U.S. shows will be announced soon.

Everest continues, as LA Weekly deftly exclaimed, “their climb up the indie-rock mountain.” The band is riding the momentum of their debut LP, Ghost Notes, released last year on Vapor Records, which was described by Spin.com as “fuzz-caked American riffs and rollicking acoustics.” Just this month, the fivesome was singled out by Alternative Press as one of their “100 Bands You Need to Know in 2009,” comparing them to the likes of The Jayhawks, Ryan Adams & The Cardinals as well as recent touring partners Wilco. Make sure to catch Everest in a town near you.
