An award-winning songwriter, Marcia writes story songs that span genres, packed with emotional content and lyrics that connect the listener to the common well of human experience. She grew up in a household filled with music and musical instruments, and spent her formative years listening to classical, folk, and pop music. Later she became exposed to country music, and was drawn to its stories. Marcia has just released her first CD, “Water In The Well”, and performs in Western Massachusetts on a regular basis.

Her songs tend to be about people outside of the mainstream, or damaged in some way by things that have happened or the choices they have made. This does not mean they are depressing, because the emotions in these songs include laughter and sorrow, hurt and healing, love and loss. If, as they say, the road to hell is paved with good intentions, you can also say that the road to grace and beauty can be found as a result of our bad choices. We all stumble through this life as best we can, and sharing stories through songs is a way of connecting to each other. We don’t travel alone.
