Burbank, CA- Florida punk band Against Me! are continuing their marathon tour with a series of spring shows across the South. The hard-working quartet have been writing new songs and are eager to road-test them for fans in intimate settings before they record their new album with producer Butch Vig later this year.

Against Me! has also been featured in a one-hour performance special entitled Check 1,2 — Against Me! on action sports lifestyle network FUEL TV. The program captures the band playing a no-frills all-ages show for Los Angeles-area fans in a hot, sweaty storefront in West Hollywood the day after completing their two-month run on the Vans Warped tour. Check 1,2 Against Me! will air several times in March. For dates, check local listings.

Against Me! spent most of 2008 touring non-stop in support of their current album, the Butch Vig-produced New Wave, which was released by Sire Records in July 2007. Called “the most invigorating, zeitgeist-capturing rock album in years” by Spin magazine, New Wave was named the magazine’s “Album of the Year,” and also appeared in the Top 10 on Rolling Stone, Blender, and MTV.com’s year-end “Best Album” lists. New Wave has spawned two singles, “White People for Peace” and “Thrash Unreal,” which became the band’s first single to chart in the U.S. when it climbed to No. 11 on the Modern Rock chart.

Last fall, Against Me! frontman Tom Gabel hit the road solo for The Revival Tour during which he performed songs from his seven-song solo EP Heart Burns. The EP was inspired by the country’s political and cultural landscape and released right before the November Presidential election.
