Albuquerque, NM-based crunkcore innovators Brokencyde have announced the title for their upcoming debut, “I’m Not A Fan But The Kids Like It,” which is set for a June 16, 2009 release through BreakSilence Records.

“The title of the record comes from when we performed at a show and at the end of the night the promoter said, ‘I’m not fan of your music but I guess the kids like it.’ So we look at the title as an inside joke,” says Mikl from Brokencyde about the album’s title. “We might have a lot of people that don’t like our music, but for everyone that isn’t a fan we have just as many that love the band and the music and those people are the reason we do what we do.”

Brokencyde’s popularity continues to soar thanks to a recent feature on the “Screamo-Crunk” explosion in this month’s Revolver Magazine where Brokencyde’s sound was described as being able to “shatter pimp cups with throat-shredding, Converge-style growls and screams.” The group’s popularity continues to grow, which is sure to delight Senses Fail vocalist Buddy Nielson who has been speaking out against the crunk band at every stop of the group’s current Saints and Sinners Tour, which also features Brokencyde.

“We wanted to send a special thank you to Buddy Nielson of Senses Fail for all the kind words he has been saying about Brokencyde on stage every night and in the press. It’s kind of funny to hear his recent comments about us considering we’re on tour with his band and helping them sell out venues in every city across the US. Thanks Buddy!” says Mikl sarcastically.”We’re extremely flattered that our music has the kind of impact on people that would move them on this big of a scale. There are so many bands in the scene right now that fly totally under the radar and blend in. Our goal from day one with this band has been to create something original and not look and sound like anyone or anything else.”

Brokencyde are the originators of a new highly addictive musical style that blends screamo with Top 40 hip-hop to form something completely original that can only be defined as crunkcore. One listen to Brokencyde’s upcoming debut “I’m Not A Fan But The Kids Like It” is all it takes to get hooked on the group’s hybrid musical style. Brokencyde’s crunkcore has captivated the youth of today, unlike anything the music business has seen in well over a decade. With the release of “I’m Not A Fan But The Kids Like It,” this rag-tag bunch from Albuquerque has written an album so highly addictive that listeners have no choice but to GET CRUNK!!!!
