Dance music fans know all about the impact classic Nervous artists like John Wink, Masters At Work and Todd Terry have made on global dance floors. Each started from scratch and worked their way up to lay the groundwork for the next generation of dance music producers. Keeping with tradition Nervous Records is pleased to introduce next-in-line producer and resident hit-maker – Chris Lake. Lake’s debut artist album Crazy drops this April 27 and is it ever a site to behold!

Crazy brings together the worlds of pop and the darkest, nastiest sides of club music. Here, perfect pop hooks of vocalized tracks like “Tokyo,” “Give In (feat Nastala),” Carry Me Away (feat Emma Hewitt)” and the title track meets big time dance floor stormers “Robots,” “Aqualight” and “Word” (the later two are collaborations with Sebastien Leger). While this is the perfect balance of sounds, the track currently tipping the scales in Chris Lake’s favor is current smash “If You Knew (feat. Nastala).” The track is rising across the world topping the Music Week, Buzz and Cool Cuts charts, with Pete Tong saying “sounding like a cross between “Changes” and the song “Pjanoo” never had – conventional but huge….and we haven’t had a song like this for a while.”

Globally recognised as one of the most exciting, forward thinking and cutting edge producers on the scene, Chris Lake has a rare ability to create tracks that fuse elements of house, electro and techno with true pop structures. Lake is a “true producer” having studied audio engineering and has a set-up featuring a big beefy MacPro, running Logic 8 and Ableton Live, loads of VST’s, analog synths, compressors, preamps and microphones. His innovative productions continue to receive wave after wave of support from such luminaries that include Sasha, Danny Howells, Justin Robertson, Sander Kleinenberg and Carl Cox, while Pete Tong leads the way in championing the unique sound that has established Chris as one of the world’s elite.

With a string of his own smash hits including “Changes” (Radio 1’s “Essential New Tune”) and “Carry Me Away” (reached #1 on the Billboard Dance Chart); collaborations with Deadmau5 (on “I Thought Inside Out”) and Sebastien Leger on (“Word/Ghost”); remixes of Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Mark Ronson, Lily Allen and Deadmau5; an Essential Mix (August 2007) and live gigs at the world’s best clubs under his belt, the timing couldn’t be better to unveil a debut artist album as sparkling as Crazy. This is your introduction to the Musical, groovy, funky, techy, structured madness of Chris Lake.

Chris Lake’s Crazy is released April 27, 2009 on Nervous records. Check out a list of Chris Lake’s WMC gigs below.
