The Dears are gearing up to launch a full-scale onslaught on North America. Fellow countrymen Jets Overhead and Black Diamond Bay will take over for the Canadian leg.

Hailed by Magnet as the band’s “rawest, nerviest work to date” and heralded as one of the “Top 50 Albums of 2008” by Under The Radar, the independent rock veterans’ fourth LP is a confident mission statement from a band that has experienced both exhilarating highs and crushing lows. This is none more evident than in second single “Disclaimer,” set to decimate at US radio. The opening track sets the tone for the 10-song collection as it delicately unfolds with drones and distorted rumbles before churning its way through an orchestral storm where singer Murray Lightburn declares that he’s “come back from almost death.”

A testament to The Dears’ dramatic pop sensibility paired with brutal honesty, Missiles is arguably their richest, most vivid recording to date. The album’s epic centerpiece, “Lights Off,” will soundtrack a scene on an upcoming episode of the highly-popular teen drama “Gossip Girl.”
