“Who’s that girl?” people have been asking ever since a vintage video of 10-year-old Justin Timberlake performing the Paula Abdul hit “Opposites Attract” with an equally young girl at a Tennessee festival surfaced on www.perezhilton.com earlier this week.

That girl is Ashley Arrison, who, like her friend Timberlake, has been hiding those MC Hammer pants in a deep hole in the backyard of her childhood home. Also like Timberlake, she is now all grown up and has made music her career. Of course, that’s where the similarities end. Americana – not pop – is Arrison’s forte and her first EP, Talking Circles – produced by Aben Eubanks (Kelly Clarkson) and available now on iTunes – showcases her formidable abilities as a singer-songwriter.

“This video really shows how much fun two 10-year-olds can have on the smallest stage ever built! The duet was a great time, and now it’s exciting to have so many new people discover my music,” says Arrison, who had 40,000 hits to her website the day the video was released. Yesterday it was the fourth most-viewed video on YouTube.com and tonight “Inside Edition” will air a piece on the young singer-songwriter.

Arrison, whose first show at New York City’s Bitter End sold out, is looking forward to a series of summer shows. (Initial dates are listed below, with more TBA).
