“The Bell brothers are fundamentally not fundamental and their talents for chimes and loops, which create a steady state of rhythm and rolling but could never give off any motion sickness, are seemingly endless. There is blissfulness and there is bluster that – if you wanted to save money on your winter utility bills – could be used to heat your entire house. It’s a warm blaze that they entice from the melodies and ideas that they so carefully put together.” –Daytrotter

“The duo’s heartening tunes employ piano, synthesizers, organs, xylophones, brass instruments, and much more to provide a gorgeous multi-layered mix”- Alarm

“Lymbyc Systym create songs that are epic and massive, but never messy, and no matter how huge the wall of sound they build, the music maintains a distinctly delicate feel.”- RCRD LBL

“They have a unique sound to them which blends, vintage keyboards, melodies, analog effects, drumming, and intricate laptop programming. The effect of this is to form melodic and cohesive tracks that blur the borders between post-rock, indie-rock, and folktronica”- LA Cityzine.com

“A brother folktronica duo who are shrewd assemblers of charming melodies, propulsive rhythms, and electronic doodles.”- The Boston Phoenix

Brothers Mike and Jared Bell form Lymbyc Systym, an instrumental duo hailing from Austin, Texas and Brooklyn, NY. In support of a re-issue of their out-of-print debut, Carved By Glaciers (2005), and a new split EP, Field Studies (split with This Will Destroy You), Lymbyc Systym is heading out on a national tour with shows that span across most of the United States, including familiar second-home cities, and first-run cities alike. About Lymbyc Systym
The pair began tinkering back in 2001, laboriously experimenting and completely hell-bent on establishing something fresh and unique from deep beneath the indie canopy. By 2005, they were ready to send an offering out into the world, a 5-song statement of purpose titled “Carved By Glaciers.” A self-released endeavor, “Carved…” quickly established the Bell brothers as a pair to watch intently in years to come. Immediately embraced by the forbearers of their genre, Lymbyc Systym quickly rose from practice space to tour bus territory, both supporting (and occasionally backing) acts such as Broken Social Scene, Crystal Castles, The Album Leaf, Her Space Holiday, The One AM Radio, and countless others in phase two of their ascent: relentless live shows anytime, anywhere.

Amidst the flurry of activity and interest over Lymbyc Systym spilling in from all corners of the globe, “Carved By Glaciers” somehow managed to slip out of print and unattended to as the brothers Bell clocked innumerable miles on the odometer, chasing down show after show across North America and Japan. Finally, in 2008, like-minded paths crossed with Magic Bullet Records and plans were hatched to reissue this stunning debut in concurrence with “Field Studies,” a split CD/LP with friends and label-mates This Will Destroy You.
