JEFF IDE RELEASES DEBUT VOCAL CD WITHIN THE HEART OF ME

Singer, actor, and past booking manager of classic New York clubs, Don’t Tell Mama and The Duplex – Jeff Ide proudly announces his first recording,

WITHIN THE HEART OF ME.

Ide is a familiar performer to New York City cabaret audiences. His heartfelt, personal interpretations of the American popular songbook invite comparisons to singers such as Norah Jones and Nancy Lamott.

He honed his talent with appearances at many of New York’s most famous venues, such as Don’t Tell Mama, The Duplex, The Triad and Rose’s Turn. He has been featured in acts directed by Gerry Geddes, Helen Baldassare, Nancy Lamott, Bruce Hopkins & Helene Kelly.

Originally from Duluth, MN, Jeff is an alum of both Hamline University, St. Paul, MN and Simpson College, Indianola IA. His musical theater education and performance experience includes a wide variety of musical styles, from classical to musical theater. It was through the influence of his depression era grandfather, Donald “Mac” McBride, a noted tenor of the early “Oxford Entertainers” from Pittsburgh, PA & KDKA radio, that Jeff became routed in a unique personal style which has delighted club and cabaret goers for a number of years.

Jeff’s debut CD, WITHIN THE HEART OF ME is dedicated to his late friends, Nancy Lamott and Bruce Hopkins — artists ahead of their time and taken too soon — and each an important influence on him.

The CD is a combined effort by well-known NYC Musical Director Paul Greenwood (who contributes both piano and backup vocals); Associate Producer, writer and director Gerry Geddes and the musical artistry of bassist Michael Blanco, drummer Sean McDaniel (Spamalot) and guitarist Ric Molina (Wicked).
