Setting the release of Eat the Peace a year to the day of the 2008 self-titled EP, the indie-pop maestro Alan Cohen Experience delivers an election day gift on November 3rd, 2009.
Featured on CNN and in the UK’s The Guardian, Alan Cohen Experience’s finds himself again collaborating with Brooklyn Producer, Roger Greenawalt (The Pierces, Ben Kweller, Nils Lofgren). Featuring The Pierces’ Catherine Pierce on “Peace,†“Ranger Stranger†and “Truck Driverâ€, Eat the Peace encompasses a dose of a southern driven guitar rock, each song representing a fictional character. The only exception, “Peace”, meditates on the coming and goings of war and peace, in a seemingly endless and infinite cycle.
The title, Eat the Peace, first came to Cohen while in Italy where he drew a logo of Pacman chomping on a gun shaped hand to represent an imaginary revolutionary movement. The caption at the bottom: “Eat the Peace.†Cohen says, “It struck me how a gun shape is a sort of a bastardized version of a peace sign. The picture I drew made it into the artwork for my first album, a concept album called and about ‘Revolutions’. I thought the title ‘Eat the Peace’ would work well for this album, since many of the characters are not necessarily the most savory.â€
