For the past few months Queensbridge emcee Blaq Poet has been feeding the fans – songs, exclusive remixes, videos, behind the scenes… the works. All that hard work pays off today with the release of Blaq Poet’s new album, Tha Blaqprint. To celebrate the album release, Blaq Poet is unleashing a new, never before heard track from the new album, “Stretch Marks and Cigarette Burns” featuring Panchi of NYGz and Imani Montana. Blaq Poet’s reputation as one of the East Coast’s most hardcore rappers is solidified on the track, as the emcee raps about the harsh reality that is the life of a struggling stripper, while guest artists Panchi (of the NYGz) and Imani Montana lay down verses that help to reinforce Poet’s precedent of hardcore boom-bap. A gritty, straight-ahead beat serves as the foundation for the emcees, and a sample of N.W.A.’s “Gangsta Gangsta” fits the mood of the song perfectly. Blaq Poet’s new album Tha Blaqprint is now available in stores and online everywhere.
