After two magical shows in the U.S., one at a wedding chapel in Las Vegas and the second at a Cemetery in Los Angeles, Glasvegas will make a triumphant return to the states to join the Kings of Leon on their U.S. Tour for 12 dates starting September 9th in Connecticut and ending their leg on September 26th in Milwaukee. Glasvegas will also be headlining a handful of U.S. dates leading up to their appearance at this year’s Lollapalooza Festival. (See below for dates)
Glasvegas is the current support on a leg of U.K. dates with the Kings of Leon who are reported big fans of the Glaswegians. Jared Followill told the New York Times that the Scottish band reminded him of music he loved as a youth.
“I saw them [Glasvegas] in concert, and they’re just incredible,” he said. “They look like a band you stumble into in Nashville; they’re playing rockabilly music, not like run-of-the-mill rock stars.â€
“It reminds me of music we listened to when we were growing up, oldies like Tommy James And The Shondells. [Their album] has a beautiful old sound, the way they use so much reverb on the vocals and guitars.â€
In August Glasvegas will play select European dates with U2. August will also mark the debut of the band’s second U.S. single, “It’s My Own Cheating Heart That Makes Me Cry,†which is a personal favorite of U2’s Bono. The iconic front man boasted, “That song ‘It’s My Own Cheating Heart That Makes Me Cry’ is one of the best songs I’ve ever heard.â€
