It’s no secret that rap’s biggest hits continue to come from the South. In fact, it’s the absolute norm. The next artist burning his path north is Louisiana CA$H, a Louisiana native who’s better suited for the bright lights than the bayous. His song “Walk Wit a Dip” is spreading like wildfire, getting play from New Mexico all the way to Washington, DC. On his MySpace page, www.myspace.com/cashthenext, the song registers nearly 700,000 plays. CA$H left the industry no choice but to take notice. Battery Records, RCA/JIVE Label Group’s division aimed at promoting and developing up-and-coming talent, stepped up to ink him.

Says Neil Levine, General Manager and Senior Vice President of Battery, “Louisiana CA$H is one of the hottest artists coming out of the South. Expect cell phones and cars to be blasting his newest single “Walk Wit a Dip” which is already the hottest record in Dallas. We’re very pleased to have CA$H and I$G join our Battery family”.

Born and raised in North Louisiana, Louisiana CA$H, AKA Steven Morgan recalls rapping as early as age nine. From there, his flows would stand out in local talent shows, and command full respect and attention in the locker room at Grambling High School, where he was a track standout. Repping Louisiana to the fullest, CA$H went on to Grambling State University, where he really exploded. He signed to a local record label and instantly began opening for a series of household names: Lil’ Wayne, TI, Twista, Keyshia Cole, Hurricane Chris, and Lloyd.

He’s since signed to I$G Entertainment. With a vicious yet disciplined attack, CA$H relishes in bringing subtle subject matters to light. He’s employed that flow on a handful of heavy-moving mixtapes: I Got That Sheet Rock; Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is; Cash Over Everything hosted by DJ Whitey; Birth of a New Breed hosted by DJ Certified Kingpin from Atlanta, GA. Check YouTube for some interesting behind-the-scenes footage of the video casting call and shoot itself. Trumpeting the motto “Trust more, worry less,” CA$H is poised to be the next Southern superstar, with Louisiana firmly on his back. CA$H aims to rule everything around us. Believe.

Battery Records is an imprint under Sony Music Entertainment’s RCA/JIVE Label Group umbrella formed in July 2008 to develop and nurture young urban hip hop talent, in an age where such development is more crucial and necessary than ever. Under the leadership of industry veteran Neil Levine, Battery’s mission is to uncover and cultivate organic young talent, thereby creating an indispensable niche in the marketplace.
