Recently named one of Spin Magazine’s “8 Undiscovered Bands Worth a Listen,” Golden Bloom announces New England tour dates in August in support of the August 18th release of Fan the Flames: a collection of bright energetic melodies shadowing the questions pervading society.

Having shared the stage with Eef Barzelay of Clem Snide, Pela and Bobby Bare Jr. among others, the live collective of sorts features an ever changing line up that guarantees no two shows will be identical. Led by multi-instrumentalist and frontman, Shawn Fogel, core members include Deleon frontman Dan Saks, Ryan Ball, bassist for famed Pink Floyd tribute band the Machine, Brooklyn guitar ace Jeff Patlingrao, Guster sideman Josh Cohen, and music journalist Michael Azerrad.

Spin Magazine said of the first single off the upcoming full-length, “’Doomsday Devices’ feels like a great b-side from the [Wilco] Summer Teeth era.” The single was recorded with Ryan Ball at The Gearbox and produced by Peter Katis (The National, Interpol, Mates of State). Selecting an unorthodox approach, Fogel then went on to work with producers Roger Greenawalt (Ben Kweller), and Dylan Magierek (Mark Kozelek) for his upcoming album, Fan the Flames, due out August 18th, 2009. An instrumental chameleon, front man Shawn Fogel is as comfortable on piano, bass guitar and tenor sax as on keyboard, harmonica, and drums where he demonstrates his talents by playing all the instruments on Fan the Flames.
