Our Lady Peace is back with Burn Burn, a record chalk-full of sing-alongs that you’ll proudly project loudly in public spaces or secretly play on repeat through the privacy of your iPod headphones. Raise your hand/email me back if you’ve happily found yourself humming along to OLP hits like “Superman’s Dead,” “Clumsy,” “Life,” “Starseed,” “Somewhere Out There,” or “Innocent” at least once in your life. You didn’t mind it did you? People forget about Our Lady Peace… This is not a band that’s trying to dig themselves out of the 90’s rock wasteland like the majority of bands from that era. This is a band that’s just as relevant today as they were 10 years ago.

OLP’s live show is as good as it’s ever been and was on display during recent sold-out shows in NYC and Los Angeles that had BILLBOARD gushing “OLP proved their readiness as arena-worthy superstars during the opening night of the Canadian act’s U.S. tour.” A raucous performance in LA last week left the Troubadour none-too-pleased with the damage OLP incurred. Lead singer Raine Maida victoriously climbed up to walls to the second floor during “All You Did Was Save My Life,” leaving a heap of destruction in his wake. More like “All You Did Was Break My Soundboard” as far as the Troubadour is concerned. A fan caught the stunt on video and it can be seen here and pictures here.

Our Lady Peace kick off their US Tour Monday, August 10th in Dallas, TX. See below for a full list of dates and let me know if you want to check out one of the shows or set something up with the band. Burn Burn debuted at #41 on the Billboard Top 200 last week – hard copies are available by request.

The first single, “All You Did Was Save My Life” had another huge week at Alternative radio where it received adds at powerhouse stations like DC101/Washington DC, WBOS/Boston and KRBZ/Kansas City. It’s already in rotation at four different formats: Alternative, Top 40, Triple A and Active. The video stars fellow Canadian Shenae Grimes of “90210” and “Degrassi: The Next Generation” fame. You can watch the video in its entirety on MySpace here.

Ultimate-Guitar is currently running a contest giving away 5 pairs of tickets to 10 of their upcoming August US tour dates with Electric Touch and Meese.
