Paper + Plastick Records is proud to announce the follow up to Richmond, Virginia’s LANDMINES s/t debut, the Hell is What You Make It EP, is available for digital download today at www.paperandplastick.com. A physical release is planned for early next year, which will be a double 7” with pop up gatefold, but P+P are eager to release this aggressive, melodic punk EP.

“The Landmines were the first release on P+P so having this EP come out brings back all those memories of starting the label,” reminisces label owner Vinnie Fiorello. “Mike [McDermott] from The Bouncing Souls kills it on these songs and the band really steps up their songwriting and the overall attack.”

Produced by Matt Allison (Alkaline Trio, Rise Against, Smoke Or Fire, Lawrence Arms) in Chicago at Atlas Studios, this six-track EP was recorded during a lineup change that left the band without a drummer, but luckily punk veteran Michael McDermott (of The Bouncing Souls) was available to lay down drum tracks. “He came to practice for two nights,” says Nick Bergheimer (guitar/vocals), “The chemistry was instant. He knew and could play our songs better than we could have imagined, and we all got along really well. It was a really awesome experience and I feel like we made a great friend in the process.” Jamie Prior, formerly of Fifteen, is now on drums full-time, rounding out the five-piece. Landmines recently shed some light on the new EP, as well as shared their memories from the Gainesville’s punk festival The Fest, recent tours and the Richmond, VA punk scene in a recent interview with PunkNews.org, which can be seen here: http://www.punknews.org/article/35392

Landmines recorded their debut LP with Brian McTernan (Hot Water Music, Strike Anywhere, Texas Is The Reason), which also happened to be the first release on the young Paper + Plastick Records. This new EP reflects the band’s growth and experience earned while out on the road over the years, having shared the stage with The Gaslight Anthem, Tim Barry, Smoke Or Fire, Polar Bear Club, Small Brown Bike, Less Than Jake, and more. Landmines are currently on the road overseas in Europe and will celebrate their return home with performances at this Fall’s The Fest.
