The Boxer Rebellion made headlines in January by becoming the first unsigned band in history to break the Billboard Top 100 Albums Chart on a digital-only release. “Union,” the band’s latest album, birthed a phenomenon when lead track, “Evacuate,” became the first iTunes “Global Single of the Week,” clocking up a staggering 560,000 downloads in seven days. On fanbase alone, the album knocked My Morning Jacket off the iTunes US Alternative Charts top spot, while also becoming an iTunes Top 5 album on both sides of the Atlantic … all within 48 hours of release. Additionally, the band most recently made headlines again when they announced a groundbreaking partnership with HMV in the UK.

“Pathological noise-rush warfare. This band can alter your life.” – NME

“If you’re crying out for substance in music, The Boxer Rebellion are here to soothe your soul.” – KERRANG

“They’re like grand indie meets Sigur Ros. I think they’re a band a part; “Union” is really sweeping and operatic, but heavy too.” – SIMON PEGG, Q MAGAZINE

“The album “Union” is absolutely arresting. Layered intensity roils throughout, and it reveals itself as a triumph of energy and atmosphere.” – JASON BENTLEY, KCRW MUSIC DIRECTOR AND HOST OF “MORNING BECOMES ECLECTIC”

Since the album’s release, the band went on an unbelievably successful tour of Europe and was even invited to record a Live session at London’s flagship Apple store, a feat no other unsigned band has been able to achieve. “Union” is now available in physical format in the UK via HMV.
