GNAW will take part in Manhattan’s APEX FEST III: Two Days of Darkness, this November 13th and 14th (GNAW plays the 2nd day). The two-day festival takes place at Chashama Arts (217 E. 42nd Street) and also features performances by Aderlating (Gnaw Their Tongues side project), Aphelion, The Austerity Program, Hecate, Rise of Because (Rosetta side project), Strom, Unearthly Trance, Xiphod Dementia and more. Admission is $25 per day or $40 for both. The price includes limited festival t-shirt and poster, but due to venue capacity, entry is strictly limited to 50 tickets per day. Footage of GNAW unleashing their intense, sonic upheaval with their song “Backyard Frontier” on a Brooklyn audience at their first headlining show in September was also recently posted: http://blogs.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendId=451309518&blogId=512676309

GNAW features members Alan Dubin (ex-Khanate, OLD), Jamie Sykes (ex-Burning Witch, Thorr’s Hammer, Atavist), Carter Thornton (Enos Slaughter), Jun Mizumachi (of NYC industrial icons Ike Yard), Brian Beatrice (Emmy Award winning sound design/mix wizard), and recently added second percussionist Eric Neuser. The unit’s tormented, unique debut album This Face was released on Belgium’s Conspiracy Records in February. They have begun constructing their follow-up album as well; more news on that will follow as it’s available.

“…the sound of abjection… a claustrophobic feel, pressing in on you relentlessly.” – Signal To Noise

“For those who didn’t have the patience to absorb Khanate (your loss), Gnaw’s sound is abrasive, but relatively concise: The five-minute ‘Vacant’ has a propulsive percussiveness that would go over well with fans of Industrial music…” – Pitchfork.com

“…an overwhelming monolith of uncompromising and malevolent nastiness.” – Brainwashed.com
