Watch out, Courtney Love and Gwen Stefani-there’s a new punk rock princess in town, and her name is The Fabulous Miss Wendy. And while Revolver magazine called her “the sexiest rock star ever,” the real news is the talent for singing, songwriting and guitar she brings to her catchy, addictive brand of punk-rock-pop with an edge.

Inspired by old-school punk acts like the Misfits, The Dead Kennedys, and The Ramones, Los Angeles-native Wendy picked up a guitar at the age of ten. A few years later, she beat out hundreds of other girls to nab the lead spot in a Nickelodeon all-girl rock band, where she met future TFMW bassist/keyboardist Claire Elizabeth. After finishing high school, The Fabulous Miss Wendy really got busy: she attended the Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, traveled to Iraq to play for U.S. troops, made it to third place in the U.S. “World Battle of the Bands” Competition, and won a VH1 Recommended Artist Award-and, of course, wrote and recorded all ten tracks of her debut album.

Wendy describes her self-titled debut as a “coming of age story” about a young girl’s journey through adolescence and troubled relationships. The sound is all sassy, punky fun, with a splash of Seattle grunge rock, while the lyrics, according to SugarBuzz magazine, “work like screenplays of misguided love, sex and anger and fun.”

The Fabulous Miss Wendy’s first album was produced by Devo’s Jerry Casale and features NIN, Weezer and A Perfect Circle drummer Josh Freese. For her live performances, Wendy needed backup musicians of equal caliber, so she called on fellow Nickelodeon band member Claire Elizabeth to play bass. Wendy’s manager, former A&R guru of Geffen Records Tom Zutaut, recruited Sean Winchester on drums, and her mentor/ supporter, L.A. music icon Kim Fowley, suggested rhythm guitarist Gretel . With this talented trio behind her, Wendy puts her lead guitar and vocal talent on display for shows at famed L.A. venues like The Whisky, The Dragonfly and The Keyclub.

In addition to her kickass live performances, The Fab Miss Wendy has also grabbed the attention of radio and TV stations and rock critics. Famed L.A. radio stations KROQ and Indie 103.1, as well as The Monkey in Seattle and Sirius Satellite Radio, have all spun Wendy’s tunes. Six of the debut album’s tracks have been played on VH1 Shows, and TFMW also performed on B In Tune TV to a national audience of more than 200 million households. And Miss Wendy’s received shout-outs in Revolver, LA Weekly, Lost Anarchy Magazine, Fringe Magazine, NME, Rock City News, and CDBaby (they’re the ones who warned Courtney Love and Gwen Stefani to “start running immediately”).

No question about it-The Fabulous Miss Wendy is going places. You can check out her music at www.thefabulousmisswendy.com and www.myspace.com/thefabulousmisswendy.
