Seventeen-year-old pop sensation, ALEX ROOTS, has been very busy the past couple of weeks! The UK teen’s new track ‘PUT YOUR HANDS UP’ off her debut album “ADRENALINE RUSH” was featured last month on MTV’s hit show, THE HILLS, and just this week MTV’s equally as popular spin-off, The City, featured several songs off the album as well. The episode opens with Roots’ track “Dizzy From The Ride” and “Put Your Hands Up” effectively plays when the show’s two stars are getting ready to go to a party. “Control’ is featured within the episode and “All About Life” plays the opening titles and end credits. The teen superstar was also just featured in ELLE Magazine (UK) with a fashion spread titled “Show Me Your Wardrobe,” which highlighted Alex’s keen and frequently mimicked fashion sense. With primetime television exposure, an audience of admiring fashionistas, and a massive music following, Alex Roots is set to explode on the stateside entertainment industry.

At only seventeen, Alex Roots has already co-written and recorded her greatly anticipated debut album, Adrenaline Rush. Her music has been described as perky punk pop, where Roots pays homage to the fun, energetic pop music of the 80s while maintaining a sassy punk vibe resembling the Ting Tings (Guardian Music) and Cyndi Lauper (NME). Roots’ new single, “Don’t Stop Looking” was recently described by PopJustice as “a massively deranged blast of Cyndi Lauper, Avril Lavigne and Abba with a bit of Gwen Stefani thrown in for good measure.” With an exclusive deal with Claire’s Accessories where Alex will be the spokesperson for a new line of up-to-the-minute accessories, Roots has expanded her cool style and Sienna Miller-esque beauty worldwide. With clear vocal talent, striking beauty, a remarkable fashion sense, and that undeniable “it” factor, Alex Roots is quickly becoming a household name in the UK with definite promise abroad for years to come.
