ATO Records is excited to announce that the explosive Mexican guitar-shredding Rodrigo y Gabriela have announced their Spring 2010 tour of North America. The dates begin February 28th at the 9:30 club in Washington, DC, run through March, and culminate with a special performance at New York’s historic Radio City Music Hall on April 29th. These dates are a part of Rodrigo y Gabriela’s world tour in support of their acclaimed sophomore album, 11:11.

The follow up to their stunning self-titled debut, 11:11 met and exceeded the expectations of fans and critics alike. “One listen to ‘Hanuman’ or even ‘Buster Voodoo'” wrote Relix, “and you know you’re in for a wild throbbing ride that predictably intensifies when Testament’s Alex Skolnick joins them on ‘Atman.'” Guitar World said, “it’s impossible to imagine that just two guitars can produce this level of musical density and complexity,” while Paste declared, “Rodrigo y Gabriela offer today’s best exposition of the pyrotechnic, fusion-oriented edge of Spanish style guitar playing.” Since the September ’09 release of 11:11 Rodrigo y Gabriela have performed on The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and The Tavis Smiley Show. 11:11 has also been recognized by the NAACP, garnering a nomination in the Outstanding World Music category for the organization’s forthcoming Image Awards.

As Rodrigo y Gabriela continue to impress on record, their live set remains one of the most exhilarating performances around today. “I’d heard about Rodrigo y Gabriela’s ability to harness the power of a six-piece band with just two acoustic guitars,” wrote Megan Feldman of the Dallas Observer, “but seeing the phenomenon live was nothing short of spellbinding.” The Denver Post was “left with jaws agape.” A show in Philly had the Philadelphia Inquirer praising the “engagingly immediate -and head-spinning fun” of Rodrigo y Gabriela live.
