For those fans of William Burroughs, there are a few pieces in this issue of Slug that will be warmly received. For those individuals that have not had the chance to pick up n issue of Slug before, here’s a little description of what is to be expected. The magazine is focused around the Salt Lake City area, with coverage granted to local musicians, members of the art scene, skateboarders, and snowboarders, while other pieces focus on well-known individuals and issues. This means that this issue features Wu-Tang meber za along with anarcho-punk/hardcore act Strike Anywhere. The issue takes on politics as well, with a discussion of the upcoming documentary 8 (about Proposition 8). Finishing up this issue is a veritable smorgasbord of pieces that range from a discussion about “The Little World Chinese Restaurantâ€, teaching cunninglingus through strawberry sucking, and a further discussion about the Gallery Stroll in Salt Lake City. A tremendous amount of reviews finish up this issue, while #253’s glue is (as usual) the area-specific advertisements that actually add to the enjoyment one can take from the issue.
