It’s been a dreams-come-true kind of a year in New Orleans for more than just the Superbowl-bound Saints and the fans that have waited decades. Generationals have experienced a true national breakout with their debut record Con Law. Adding to the list of incredible things that are happening to this band, Generationals have accepted an invitation from (one of their favorite bands) The Apples in stereo to join them on tour in support of their brand new record Travellers In Space and Time.

Generationals are still humbly soaking in the seasonal flood of dozens of end of 2009 “Best Of” lists and the surprise of being picked for New York Times’ “Nifty 50”. As they prep for the April/May dates with Apples In Stereo, they set out on their first tour of the new year this month with San Antonio’s Hacienda and labelmates and BBFFLs (best band friends for life) Floating Action from Asheville, NC. In between tours, Generationals have been selected to make their debut SXSW appearance, and music lover and industry hearts are all aflutter over the news.

Generationals are signed to the New Orleans based Park the Van Records, and are a major part of this fledgling indie-label. In addition to Floating Action, they have also toured or played with fellow PTV-mates The Spinto Band, Pepi Ginsberg, Giant Cloud, National Eye, The High Strung, Golden Boots and a main support slot for Dr. Dog, in New Orleans. The band plans to head back into the recording studio with the producer of their debut album, Daniel Black of the Oranges Band, to record their follow-up LP in the months ahead.
