Well-known children’s director Cory Wilkerson has been tapped to direct the Hershey Playhouse summer production, “Hello Dolly” and has tapped TD Ford to produce. Both have slated two days, Friday, May 7 and Saturday, May 8, for auditions to be held at the Hershey Playhouse, Wilkerson noted that Hello Dolly! includes roles for children, teens and mature adult actors with featured roles in the adult and teen age groups as well as featured roles for dancers.
“We welcome actors of all ages for our chorus of townspeople who will bring to life several song and dance numbers,” said Wilkerson.

Persons wishing to audition for Hello Dolly! should allow at least 2 hours to get through the audition process. During the audition process you will be asked to perform a cold reading from the script with a randomly assigned scene partner for our director and casting committee.

In addition, actors should be prepared to perform at least 32 bars of a song of your choosing that will show off your vocal range for our music directors. Finally come dressed in appropriate shoes and clothing so that you can learn a simple dance combination and perform it for our choreographer in randomly chosen group.

Saturday May 8, 2010 from 1:00 pm ’til 4:00 pm (children under twelve)

Somehow before the day is done Horace, Dolly, Horace’s niece Ermengarde and Horace Vandergelder’s two naïve clerks end up romping through New York City in a web of complicated romantic entanglements that will tickle your funny bone and make your head spin. Not to worry however, by the end of the story, each character ends up with their ideal partner- but not without a great deal of misadventures set in motion by Dolly Levi herself.
