March 9th marked the release of Mighty Tiger’s long-awaited debut album, “Western Theater.” In the few short weeks that followed, a steady stream of positive press attention and accolades from music bloggers and the like has rolled in. The band has been touring the U.S. with fellow Seattle-based rockers Grand Hallway, and made a stop in Austin just long enough to kill it at the Paper Garden Records SXSW Showcase.

Northwesterners can catch a few more select shows coming up soon as well – firstly a show with Bear Hands on their night away from tour with Passion Pit on April 13th at The Sunset Tavern in Seattle.

You can watch Mighty Tiger playing a live backyard session for Bodyspace.net’s Videoteca. The boys perform an acoustic arrangement of “Chibi Girl” on a Seattle rooftop, and a slightly pared down version of lead single “33 1/3” set in an empty living room. The Portuguese music site has recently featured exclusive videos and interviews with My Brightest Diamond, Best Coast and Toro y Moi.
