Deftones Tour In Support of “Diamond Eyes”

DIAMOND EYES was produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Alice in Chains, Coheed & Cambria, Foo Fighters) and recorded in Los Angeles, CA. The band recorded the album after their best friend and bassist Chi Cheng sustained a debilitating brain injury from a car accident in November of 2008. “After Chi’s accident, it would have been easy for us to make a sad record,” says singer and guitarist Chino Moreno. “But really, this is an optimistic record.” recently premiered a brand-new video for lead single “Diamond Eyes,” which was shot in Los Angeles and directed by Roboshobo (Metallica, Mastodon, B-52’s). Prior to hitting the road on BlackDiamondSkye with Alice in Chains and Mastodon, Deftones will play a string of U.S. shows, followed by dates overseas. The first single “Diamond Eyes,” is presently commanding serious airplay around the world while the album is quickly garnering formidable headlines:

“On their sixth and best effort, Deftones deftly flows from visceral alt-metal brutality to serene melodic beauty, displaying a raw intensity that’s purely cathartic.” – USA Today

“Hard rock thrives on conflict and chaos, and no band has found more beauty and soaring aggression within those ingredients than Deftones.” – Los Angeles Times

“It’s easily Deftones’ most uplifting album to date…Deftones have created a “more optimistic” record – and maybe the Album Of the year….” – Revolver Magazine
