Blue Rodeo Announce U.S. Tour…

Nearly twenty years after Rolling Stonemagazine proclaimed, “the best new American band may very well be Canadian,” Blue Rodeois still riding high. They have just released their new record, The Things We Left Behind, to some of the highest praise of their career. From new media outlets such as My Old Kentucky Blog, Chicks With Guns, PopDose, and Blurt and the new M, some writers are discovering the band for the first time. They also recently received their 13th Juno Award nomination for Group of the Year, which they have won an unprecedented 5 times.

This is the band’s 12th studio record and the most ambitious to date. In a time where bands are posting “tweet songs,” Blue Rodeohas released an old-fashioned 16-song double record on CD and vinyl, and garnering attention from a whole new generation of fans.

“The Things We Left Behind is a 16-track beauty…. a perfect showcase for this uniquely-talented band. One of the most accomplished and confident records you’ll hear this year. Highly recommended! MY OLD KENTUCKY BLOG
“Blue Rodeo may very well be the best band yet to catch the attention of the wider populace… Accomplished in the art of sturdy songcraft and seamless delivery, their music is tailor made for the masses… album exudes grace, eloquence and determination…Which makes the stunning The Things We Left Behind not only a record that connects instantly and emphatically, but one that’s essential for anyone who needs a reminder of what makes great rock ‘n’ roll so fearlessly compelling in the first place.” BLURT

“Chock-full of sweet harmonies, solid melodies, and deft lyrical touches.” M

“Blue Rodeo has the Americana earnestness of Gram Parsons with a generous touch of British Invasion pop… leading the pack is One More Night, a shuffle sung by Cuddy and propelled by soul-savvy electric piano, a chorus full of killer hooks, beefy guitar twang,… and lyrics full of the sort of dark wanderlust that would make Hank Williams proud.” LEXINGTON-HERALD LEADER

“… a testimony to the creative staying power of this extraordinary country-rock outfit…The Things We Left Behind is a lesson in how to deliver a first-rate country-rock album in this day and age… this one is a definite keeper!” POWER OF POP

[The Things We Left Behind ] “… the feel of having been through the fires of life and time spent on the road and have come out of it finely sharpened and ready to go!”

“Cuddy and Keelor both seem to be taking stock, reflecting on the passage of time and the state of the heart with penetrating but poetic insight… An absolutely stellar outing, this is unquestionably the strongest statement yet from a band that continues to set new standards with each release. Highly recommended!” BLOGCRITICS

“…it helps when you have two songwriters as consistently great as Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor, who are obviously trying to push themselves creatively. The results are pretty impressive.”

Blue Rodeo has given us an album that no one in Nashville seems to have the guts to make anymore….standouts include beautiful ballad “Waiting for the World,” the plaintive lyrics of “Arizona Dust” and the epic “Million Miles” …some of the strongest work of their career.”
