It has been a long while since I Had the chance to watch any of the original series of Dragonball. I still recall that my sister was a fan of it while we were both in school, so it has been a few years. Funimation has stoked my interest in the show with their re-mastering of the fourth season of Dragonball. This season surrounds the lead up to the major knock-down, drag-out fight between Goku and Piccolo. In the process, Goku has to go to the Korin Tower in order to pick up the Ultra Divine Water. The potion is what will hopefully allow eir to vanquish Piccolo without dying eirself. What will immediately hit viewers that are already familiar with the show would have to be how clear and vibrant the video transfer of these twelve-plus hours of footage. What looked so old and dated when it was shown on the Cartoon Network looks absolutely brilliant.

For those individuals that have a long stretch of time on their hands, the “Marathon Play” feature allows players to snuggle up under a blanket and go for the long haul, watching the episodes as if they were a movie. Of course, the music transfer is similarly impressive, being further bolstered by the presence of a desire by Funimation to improve upon what was a pretty muddied and dirty-sounding track. This is the definitive release of the fourth season of Dragonball, until that time when Funimation can put it onto Blu-Ray Discs.

To ensure that Funimation continues restoring the Dragonball saga, make sure to pick up a copy of this release today. With one action-packed episode after another still to come, Funimation has a tremendous amount of momentum coming into any future endeavor.
