Irish band GLYDER began their musical journey in 2004 at the annual Phil Lynott tribute gig “Vibe for Philo” in Dublin. Three albums and two EP’s later GLYDER have developed a very distinguishable and unique sound, blending their classic rock influences with a fresh and modern twist.

GLYDER has won fans across Ireland as well as the rest of the world, but one fan in particular has sung the praises of the band since day one. That fan is Philomena Lynott, mother of legendary Thin Lizzy front man Phil Lynott. Many musicians may tend to shy away from comparisons to other bands, but since these words came from the mother of a true Irish classic rock legend GLYDER are more than happy to embrace the comparison.

When asked about GLYDER Philomena Lynott said the following:

“When watching them I get such a buzz, the same as I did watching my Phillip. I go to lots of concerts and sometimes I fall asleep, but not with these guys.

GLYDER guitarist Bat Kinane spoke about the bands relationship with Philomena:

“Philomena has been a supporter of GLYDER since we first began and always comes to our hometown shows. I think we remind her a lot of the days when Phil was struggling trying to break through. She is a person of tremendous spirit and goodwill and her support means a lot to us guys and gives us a lot of confidence”

GLYDER’S latest album “Yesterday Today and Tomorrow” will receive its North American release on June 29th on SPV/STEAMHAMMER. For review, editorial and press opportunities, please contact Jon at Freeman Promotions.
