As one of Alternative Press Magazines “100 Bands You Need To Know” 2010, Deas Vail is working hard to make sure their presence is known, just wrapping up a successful club trek with O’Brother the band kicks off dates with Lydia on July 20 and then it’s onto an August run on Vans Warped Tour 2010.

“With a successful co-headlining run up the Midwest and East Coast and great crowds at Summerfest and Cornerstone Festival, this summer has been amazing. We are looking forward to playing with Lydia on their farewell tour in the South, then jumping off that in time to go West with Vans Warped Tour. We hope to bring a fresh sound to the line-up and offer something unique to the Warped crowd”—remarks guitarist Andy Moore

Birds & Cages is a dozen songs that take on everest-sized questions about freedom, love, hope, fear, transformation and just what it means to become a better human being. That might seems like a tall order for a modern rock album but Deas Vail make their soul searching inquiries sound exhilarating, with swooning choruses, sparkly panoramic arrangements and lyrics that flirt with darkness but ultimately tilt towards optimism. Deas Vail’s Birds & Cages is the second release from the newly revived record label, Mono vs. Stereo, a partnership between Gotee Records and Relient K.
