Andrew McAllister announces the release of Vanish Valley’s self-titled record debut. The album is being released on his own independent Hard Bark Records and will be available for sale through CD Baby, iTunes, and Amazon on July 27th, 2010.

Andrew McAllister (formerly of Conrad Ford/Tarnished Records) has assembled a group of musicians for a song cycle titled, Vanish Valley. Blending elements of folk, country and psychedelic rock, the songs on Vanish Valley ramble their way through hushed landscapes and into roll-your-window-down backcountry cruises. Andrew McAllister sings with a voice characterized by Three Imaginary Girls as “…a country-esque Damien Jurado” and by Seattle’s Stranger as “…a younger more innocent Jeff Tweedy.”

McAllister moved from Seattle to Los Angeles in 2008, settling into his hillside bungalow to write and record. 6 months later he emerged with a series of songs that were soon whittled down to a proper full-length record, entitled Vanish Valley. Over time he has assembled a 4 piece band that includes McAllister/vocals/guitar, Henry Derek Bonner/Bass, Cara Batema/keys and Julio Javier Trejo/drums.

Vanish Valley was self-produced and recorded at The Lookout Tower in Los Angeles, mixed by Colin Ritchie (of The Idyllists), mastered by Ed Brooks at RFI in Seattle. Andrew McAllister: Vocals, guitar/acoustic and electric, bass, organs, Wurlitzer, drums, percussion, harmonica, melodica. Henry Derek Bonner plays guitar on “Blood Of The Famous” and lends vocals to “Hunters” and “Home Fires”. Jordan Walton (Conrad Ford) plays banjo on “Great American Goldmine”.
