Callers Debut Wire Cover, “Heartbeat,” Reveal Initial Tour Dates

Brooklyn-via-New Orleans trio Callers just debuted their cover of Wire’s “Heartbeat” with Yours Covering “Heartbeat” was the initial idea that inspired the making of the band’s sophomore release, Life of Love, out October 12th on Western Vinyl (Dirty Projectors, Here We Go Magic, Balmorhea), in the hopes of creating something simple and cathartic.

Using borrowed amps and mics, in bedrooms and in studios, Callers recorded Life of Love, the followup to their acclaimed debut, Fortune, in intense spurts over the course of a year. The result is an album stripped to the core, an expression of the inexpressible space between us and the places we inhabit and the people we share those places with.

The first single off Life of Love, “You Are An Arc,” was AOL Spinner’s mp3 of the Day, and can be found at Callers’ Sound of the City Interview with the Village Voice. The original version is available for download here.

After sharing vans and stages with acts such as Here We Go Magic, Akron/Family, Vetiver, and Phosphorescent, Callers are preparing for their own extensive tour in support of Life of Love. The below dates have been confirmed, with more in the works to be announced soon.
