There are typically a number of reasons why sequels do not live up to the strong efforts put forth by their progenitors. However, Camp Rock 2 is a film that builds off of the original while providing viewers with more than enough in the way of added material and different plot twists and turns. For those individuals that liked the work of Demi Lovato (Mitchie) and Joe Jonas (Shane), they come back in a strong way. Put up against a newly-opened camp just a short distance away (Camp Star), these two have to struggle to ensure that the latest batch of campers and counselors have enough chops to blow their competition out of the water.

When talking about the nitty gritty of this release, Disney has ensured that they have pulled out all the stops. This means that the audio quality is absolutely perfect, while the video represents each actor and actress in realistic skin tones with picture-like sharpness. Regardless of whether purchasers have a DVD, Blu-Ray, or video player, Disney has ensured that the relevant version of the film is sharp and ultimately watchable (and repeatable). A trio of featurettes are present here as well.

This means that “Getting To Know Camp Star’s Newest Stars” is an intimate view into the characters played by Matthew Finley and Chloe Bridges, while there is a “Rock-Along” mode that allows viewers to sing along a la a karaoke machine. Finally, there is a small collection of tracks from the film re-imagined by international artists. This last feature really provides some nice additions to the context in which the film can be enjoyed, giving viewers the last bit of value they need to be ensured of purchasing this release.
