With two of the groups hailing from Louisiana and one representing Texas, the showcase is sure to be a southern, dirty metal brawl. Doors open at 8pm, and the event begins at 9pm. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 at the show. You can purchase your tickets at www.ticketweb.com.

New Orleans sludge metal masters CROWBAR have been known over the years for their low keyed, heavy brand of metal/hardcore fusion. Before forming as CROWBAR in 1991, the band existed in many other forms in the New Orleans area. Vocalist/guitarist Kirk Windstein (also of DOWN) regarded 2009 as the 20th anniversary of CROWBAR. During the span, the band recorded and released many highly reviewed records. A new record is set to be released by the band in 2011.

Texas thrash aces WARBEAST began in the early 80’s Texas underground metal scene. Vocalist Bruce Corbitt was the voice of speed metal kings Rigor Mortis, who achieved major label success on Capitol Records in 1988. Other members of the band boast resumes including Gammacide, Demonseed, and more. WARBEAST released their album Krush the Enemy, on April 27th, 2010.

This show comes in perfect timing to preview the release of haarp’s brand new album, The Filth, to be released on November 23rd, 2010 on HOUSECORE RECORDS. The Filth is produced by label owner Philip Anselmo. With several DIY releases to their name, their debut full length album for HOUSECORE RECORDS, The Filth is an ugly, oppressive journey into heavy metal. Famed artist and tattoo master PAUL BOOTH is credited for the amazing album artwork for the new record. haarp formed in 2005 after multiple members of local NOLA acts came together after disbanding from their original acts in the aftermath of hurricane Katrina.
