It may actually be the most important question you ever answer. Forget where you stand on politics, religion, abortion… gun to your head, who do you choose, The Beatles or The Rolling Stones? The answer pretty much defines who you are: Are you an outwardly rebellious badass with attitude to spare (The Stones) or are you the seemingly good guy (or girl), accessible to all, who is actually a rebellious badass with attitude to spare (The Beatles)?

Regardless of your choice (and The Beatles is the correct answer, by the way…Kidding), The Beatles Vs. The Rolling Stones is for fans of both. This absolutely beautiful coffee table-sized hardcover is well-researched and comes with hundred of stunning photos of both bands.

Written by rock journalists Greg Kot and Jim DeRogatis (among other things, the duo hosts NPR’s Sound Opinions), the book dissects the myths and celebrity surrounding both bands, compares the double-albums of each and rates the front men, drummers and guitarists, among other aspects, in separate chapters.

Yes, both were exceptionally talented bands (and yes, I say were, knowing full well The Rolling Stones are still together) and no book has done a better job in the past few years of capturing the magic around both than this one.
