Lissie has announced a new North American headlining tour in late 2010 and early 2011. Following a three-date stretch in the Pacific Northwest that begins December 29th at the Biltmore Cabaret in Vancouver, BC, the tour will continue on January 15th at the Music Box in Los Angeles, CA, and run through February 10th at Antone’s Nightclub in Austin, TX. These dates include shows in Denver, Davenport (IA), Minneapolis, Chicago, Toronto, Philadelphia, Boston, and Washington, DC that were postponed in October. All January dates are currently on sale except for DC, which will go on sale December 16th; all February dates will be on sale beginning this Friday, December 3rd.

Lissie’s captivating live performances, including a set at the Austin City Limits Festival and sold-out shows at the Troubadour in Los Angeles and Hiro Ballroom in New York last month, have been garnering glowing reviews. SPIN.com deemed her the ‘Best Voice, Hands Down’ at ACL, while both the Austin American-Statesman (“Lissie has got quite a voice – attractively raspy…and able to power-up into a melodic twirl”) and the Austin Chronicle praised her set as well. Flavorwire was equally charmed by her CMJ Music Marathon show at Hiro Ballroom, remarking on her “firecracker of a voice…both sweet and strong, supple and rumbling, like Lucinda Williams mixed with Cat Power.” Lissie also made her network television debut on Last Call With Carson Daly last month with a performance of “In Sleep,” off her debut full-length album Catching A Tiger, filmed live at the Troubadour. Her live sessions with Aquarium Drunkard and the Nic Harcourt-curated LiveBuzz have recently posted online as well.

Released in the U.S. on August 17th via Fat Possum, Catching A Tiger was predominantly recorded in Nashville, TN, with Jacquire King (Kings of Leon, Norah Jones, Modest Mouse) and in Asheville, NC, with Bill Reynolds (of Band of Horses, who also produced most of her 2009 EP, Why You Runnin’). The album is a captivating mix of classic ’60s-flavored pop, spirited folk, and brilliant pop/rock, anchored by Lissie’s remarkably soulful, powerful voice. Catching A Tiger has caught the attention of major press since its release, including Billboard, Blurt, Filter, The New York Times, Relix, SPIN, USA Today, and The Washington Post. A live version of “In Sleep” is available for download here (accompanying video here), as well as album track “Bully” (here).

Lissie recently wrapped up an overseas tour playing to packed houses in the UK and Europe. She will tour the UK again for two weeks in December, including a soon to be sold-out show at the prestigious Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London.
