Peelander-Z, the Japanese action comic punk band based in New York City, recently wrapped up two-plus-months of US touring that saw the band playing to the biggest crowds of its career including a performance at Austin’s Fun Fun Fun Fest that will continue to be talked about next year. Known for its manic, high energy show, Peelander-Z has been touring in support of its new P-TV-Z album attracting the attention of new fans and also that of the Progressive Global Agency, booking home to R.E.M. among others which has signed the band and will send Peelander-Z back on the road in 2011.
Following up P-TV-Z ‘s “E-I-E-I-O” single and video (Peelander Z’s homage to “Old MacDonald Had A Farm”), the band is offering a new MP3 from P-TV-Z, “How Are USA,” to honor the completion of over 50 shows around North America. And how is USA anyway? Well, Whitney Matheson at USA Today responds by saying “I love these guys!” and posting the P-TV-Z album track “Go! Also fresh off the editing bay, a new video for the P-TV-Z track “Taco Taco Tacos” which, contrary to any thoughts to the contrary, is about tacos!
