Brooklyn based doom metal quintet KINGS DESTROY has just released its debut album And the Rest Will Surely Perish via The Maple Forum. The Village Voice premieres the record’s lead track “The Mounty”, saying of the cut “First taste “The Mounty” has all the tension and bowel-busting churn of your favorite 180-gram Southern Lord vinyl, even as vocalist Steve Murphy yowls and whines with the hook-laden gloomcroon of vintage Alice In Chains.” Check out the Village Voice premiere of KINGS DESTROY’s “The Mounty” now.

Produced by Sanford Parker (Zoroaster, The Gates of Slumber) at the world famous Water Music Recorders (Motörhead, The Misfits) in Hoboken, NJ, KINGS DESTROY’s And the Rest Will Surely Perish is a sharp statement of intent. Combining “powerful riffs and powerful lyrics” with a strong interest in futuristic ideas and science fiction, the record promises “a hefty dooming” delivered with a “sans-bullshit stylistic simplicity” that has drawn comparison to early Cathedral or Solitude Aeturnus. The album’s artwork has been designed by the venerable Seldon Hunt (ISIS, Caïna, Thrones).

KINGS DESTROY features guitarists Carl Porcaro and Chris Skowronski from NYHC legends — and 100,000+ album selling unit — Killing Time, drummer Rob Sefcik from Man’s Ruin artists The Begotten and Electric Frankenstein, vocalist Steve Murphy from NYHC band Uppercut and Stanley bassist Ed Bocchino. KINGS DESTROY is a very giving unit; the band sponsors the Brooklyn-based AAU youth basketball team the “Onpoint Cyclones”, donating a portion of all band proceeds to the outfit and also held a benefit concert for Torche this past spring, when the Florida band’s van was burglarized.

KINGS DESTROY will hold a special NYC CD release show on December 10 at The Cake Shop. The live date will also feature The Brought Low and Maegashira.
