There are so many albums that have came on the market in the last few months that do not look like the music that is ultimately contained within. What Person does with their “Entitled” is a liter version of techno than what was provided by Nine Inch Nails during their “Down The Spiral” album. “Fall of Perception” blends together pieces of the aforementioned Nine Inch Nials with acts as ambient as Squarepusher and Aphex Twin. The style of the industrial music that Person puts on their “Entitled” may have a lot of ties to previous acts, but is qualitatively different from anything else that is and has been on the market. Just the fact that “Fall of Perception” uses a theramin-like sound for an extended length of time and makes it work should show the innovative nature of the act.

The track ends after nearly six minutes with a jangly, factory-sound like closing that show bring listeners back to the halcyon days of Aphex Twin’s “Windowlicker”. Person has been all over the map with the opening track, and this is only made more clear with the Nintendocore-like beeps and boops of “Valid Concerns”. While the overall sound of the track is far removed from the style, the style of “Valid Concerns” is nearly equal to that created by acts like Brand New during songs like “The Quiet Things…”. The fact that electronic noises can make such a compelling backing beat should be another missive to listeners that Person is not your average band with a set of techno albums and a dream. The fact that Person is not removed from the pop music stream is shown in “You Ain’t Hot” is shown, but the modification of current lyrics to their own style is near-flawless.

Most times, the use of a line or two from another song wrecks the flow of another band’s track, but Person modifies the quote to be spaced perfectly with the song. Person blend their influences, both in regards to musical and environmental, into their talents as musicians to create something that is both familiar to their listeners and representative of their own selves. The fact that Person has so boldly placed their personalities on this album should be a reason to pick up the album, second behind only the talent that they possess on each song that made it onto this disc. Pick “Entitled” up and run with it.
