Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 is the rare example of a sequel (and a direct to video one) being better than the original outing. The voice work is stronger, owing much to the presence of veteran voice actors like Miguel Ferrer (Delgado) and a whole slew of past and present Disney stars (BridgitMendler – Appoline and Emily Osment – Pep). While only a few years removed from the original, the film seems richer. This means that the dog’s computer-generated motions are more realistic, while the locales and other settings just pop that much more.

The film itself is set after Papi (George Lopez) and Chloe (Odette Yustman) were married and popped out a whole litter of puppies. At their wits end with their rambunctious and spirited children, it almost seems like a relief when their owners get into trouble. With a cast that is rounded out with the inclusion of French Stewart and Morgan Fairchild, Beverly Hills Chihuahua 2 has a tremendous amount of laughs to be had.

The amount of enjoyment that owners can have with this combo pack is off the charts with the inclusion of a number of distinct featurettes. The “Blooper Faux Paws” is the funniest of these, as it shows the number of different bloopers that were recorded with the human and animal actors. To get the whole family together, Disney has also included a trivia challenge that will get neurons flowing, while there is a veritable panoply of trailers for upcoming Disney films (the combo pack includes those for Spooky Buddies, Cars 2, Tangled, and a number of different Disney 3D releases). As always, the combo pack’s inclusion of a DVD of the title further increases the value of this release, making this the perfect Easter or birthday gift. Check it out today.
