Foxtails Brigade have released a cover of the classic French love song “La Vie En Rose” as the second episode in their bi-weekly video series Winter Sessions. The series is a collection of live-performance videos, both covers and originals. “La Vie En Rose”, made famous by Edith Piaf has been a Valentine’s Day favorite since 1946. Enjoy.

Since he first started making records in the 1980’s with his band the Commotions, Lloyd Cole has always been associated with fine, literate songwriting. Despite changes in recording style and arranging, from his major label solo records of the 1990’s to his recent more acoustic indie albums, the quality of his songwriting has never wavered.

No one should expect it to now on ‘Broken Record,’ his latest album which will get it’s US release on May 10th. What is different about this record is that Lloyd has assembled and recorded with a band for the first time in a decade. The musicians include Fred Maher (Lou Reed) and Joan Wasser (Joan as Policewoman)

Also of note is that in order to finance this album Lloyd asked his fans to take a chance and prebuy the album before it was even recorded. 1000 fans invested $45 for a deluxe copy of ‘Broken Record’ and made the whole thing possible. You can read more here in Lloyd’s own words:
