Just in time for the 2011 Labyrinth Tour comes Kraddy’s “Labyrinth Remix Project”, a 6-track collection taking his original “Labyrinth EP” through a maze of sexy dubstep, dub, glitch, and hip hop genres.

*Featuring Remixes by Heavyweight Dub Champion, Robot Koch, SPL, Samples, Stephan Jacobs*

The Los Angeles-based electronic-music Don known as Kraddy has always brought the undiluted sound of the underground to new audiences. From his work as a founding member of the The Glitch Mob to his groundbreaking solo work, Kraddy (born Matthew Katz) has always been known for shattering genre conventions while moving crowds everywhere from his headlining slots at Red Rocks and Burning Man to L.A.’s famed Low End Theory club.

From his breakthrough 2008 hit Android Porn to the innovative bangers comprising his latest Labyrinth e.p., released in November (Alpha Pup), Kraddy continues to hybridize hip-hop, dubstep and dancehall with face-melting panache and rock and roll bravado. But the man himself was as surprised as anyone when the mainstream crossed over to him. With its epic melody, dramatic builds, and speaker- shuddering bass drops, Android Porn was hailed as the Anthem of the decidedly maverick “glitch hop” movement, getting remixed by everyone from Mochipet to breakbeat icon Si Begg. The song went onto being licensed for TV shows, featured in America’s Got Talent, nominated for AVN Award for “Best Music in a Video” and became a YouTube sensation. It is this breakthrough smash that launched Kraddy as a solo artist. Kraddy recalls, ‘Android Porn’ kicked a door open in my mind, and I saw a whole host of new possibilities.”

Indeed, those fresh avenues are explored to the fullest on Kraddy’s November e.p. Labyrinth, overflowing with grandiose symphonics, soulful emotion, pounding rhythm and crunching low end. “My new material had to cause blunt force trauma,” he explains. “These songs are as heartfelt as it gets, but chug like a locomotive. I just love hotwiring thick analog grunge with those unexpected digital tweaks.” Labyrinth also represents Kraddy’s new association with the revered Alpha Pup label, home to future-music geniuses like Nosaj Thing and Free The Robots.

Labyrinth has been remixed by Kraddy’s piers and legends of the scene and offers the listener a whole other dimension into Kraddy’s wicked soundscapes. Appropriately titled Labrynth Remix Project, and released on February 8th thru Minotaur, Kraddy’s own imprint through Alpha Pup, the release also coincides with Kraddy’s 2011 Labyrinth Tour, a 30-date coast-to-coast run from Los Angeles, CA to Athens, GA with support from Archnemesis and Love & Light.

The opening remix titled Into The Labyrinth combines the heavy, dirty synth lines of the original with Heavyweight Dub Champion’s traditional Dub sound for a crowd-crushing anthem full of savage gauntlets of body-throttling bass. Robot Koch’s remix of Let Go invites the lush vocals of Juice Aleem and Justice to dance inside your ears while your body succumbs to massive broken beats laced with intricate glitch hop flare. On dubstep duty, we are pleased to include remixes by DLX and Hollow Point’s SPL, as well as a face-melting larger-than-life remix by Samples, an insane explosion of sexy dubstep break beat, and an ultra-heavy, surging bassline. For the DJs, producers, and MCs, the collection also includes the BONUS instrumental version of Let Go.

Labyrinth signifies the pinnacle of a musical evolution that began when Kraddy moved from his native New York to San Francisco. He soon became a mainstay of that city’s beat scene. Now he sets his sites on his latest evolution, which has moved beyond pure electronics: his live shows features a live drummer, taking Kraddy even closer to a style he calls ‘Led Zeppelin 3000.’ “It’s full and epic and shameless, but Kraddy-style,” he laughs. “That’s what I’ve always want to do, and now I’m doing it.

Labyrinth Remix Project debuted exclusively on Beatport, this past Tuesday January 25th and will appear in all major online retail outlets on February 8th, 2011
