Inspired songwriter Gord Downie will be performing his way across the United States with a series of tour dates in March and April. In addition, Downie has been announced as part of the prestigious Coachella line-up, playing Sunday, April 17th, the third and final day of the already sold-out desert fest.

As the lead singer of The Tragically Hip, Downie this time returns as Gord Downie and the Country of Miracles. A mélange of rock influenced by folk and country, his third solo album, The Grand Bounce, was produced by Death Cab For Cutie’s Chris Walla, and scheduled to be released by Cobraside on March 22nd. Downie’s charismatic thirteen album tracks appropriately shine and have already gathered praise, eliciting the description “sonic weirdness [that] hovers around the edges of a series of accessible songs,” from Toronto’s National Post.

The release will be in conjunction with the first round of touring alongside City And Colour, which kicks off at the El Rey in Los Angeles, leading into a headline run with Coachella sandwiched in between.
