This is the definitive release surrounding the musical side of Andy Williams’ career, with each disc showcasing a different side of the legend. Couple that with a number of great featurettes rounding out the rest of the release, and what viewers will have with this sub-$40 set is something that will do perfectly as a birthday or Easter present.

The first disc of the Andy Williams Collection pulls out some of the strongest performances of Williams from eir storied Moon River show. The bonus feature on this disc further fills out these performances with the inclusion of performances of “The Very Thoughtful You” and “Danny Boy”. I personally feel that the second disc is where many viewers will spend the most time. This is due to the fact that Questar has dug deep in The Andy Williams Show’s archives to find some seriously memorable duets. Whether it is with timeless performers like Sammy Davis, Jr. or Tony Bennett or slightly lesser known musicians like Antonio Carlos Jobim or Phil Harris, Williams gives it eir every time.

The Andy Williams Collection finishes up with different Christmas cuts from Williams’ career. It is tremendously illuminating to hear Williams’ take on chestnuts like “Silver Bells” or “O Holy Night”, but keep an eye out for the bonus feature – never before seen interviews and other footage from Williams eirself. The video quality varies throughout the entirety of this set, but Questar has done a great job of finding the cleanest and sharpest copies they can of each performance.
