Sometimes the right place and time takes thousands of miles and many several years to get to. For Alexander Pizzorni, aka Merlin Moon, the journey began in Caracas, Venezuela as a young deejay firmly entrenched in the local underground electronic music scene.

Upon graduating, Alex unexpectedly lost a close friend, and soon after packed a single bag and began a three-year journey across the world. He lived and played in several of the great cities of the world—Mexico City, Rome, NYC and Miami.

The winds eventually blew Alex to Los Angeles, where he translated his grief and world-worn wisdom into the songs that would eventually comprise his first full-length album as Merlin Moon, Stoned By Dreams.

Unabashedly epic, Stoned By Dreams is a meditative, moody, and winding collection of inspired songs, perhaps best described by Merlin Moon as, “psychedelic-electro-rock to for fans that listen to albums through headphones.”

Having played over 200 shows in the course of two years, a more experienced Merlin Moon is presently in the process of finishing his second full length, Bohemian Side of the Sky (API Recordings), an album that more fully incorporates the artist’s international roots, reveling in influences from reggae to progressive electronic to psychedelic rock, with songs that range from brooding melancholy to cerebral electro rock.

Engineered by 11 time Grammy-winner Rafa Sardina, mixed by Mark Needham (The Killers, Fleetwood Mac, Bloc Party, Hot Hot Heat), and mastered by Stephen Marcussen (R.E.M, Stone Temple Pilots, Rolling Stones), Bohemian Side of the Sky is set for release in Spring 2011.
