You may remember Baiyu from MTVu’s “The Freshmen”, but she’s graduated and ready to share her soulful sounds with the world. Baiyu has released her new single Together via iTunes, Bandcamp, and GlobalGrind.com. Baiyu’s new EP, Fan Fair, will debut April 15th on her official website www.baiyuonline.com, and will be a free download – this being a gift to her many fans that have supported her career and continue to show her love. In downloading the single or the EP, listeners will have the option to make a donation, with all profits going towards the Japanese consulate in aiding earthquake/tsunami relief efforts.

“Fan Fair is truly music from my heart, which makes me even more anxious to give it to my fans. Music has always brought me such joy and clarity and I hope that my music is that same gift to my fans as they are to me.”

Even with all her success, Baiyu seems most excited about her upcoming release because it’s something that at its core, has a message of triumph. “Together is an R&B feel good song,” she confides. “It’s definitely a song that’s meant to empower the listener and really convey that things are going to be okay. Essentially, my music is the byproduct of my personal story. Hopefully, my story, through song, will help others in need.”

And her story is only just beginning. With a college tour in the works, TV and movie projects lined up and superstar collaborations in the making, Baiyu has truly emerged.

“I think people will be surprised when they listen to my music because they don’t expect an Asian American artist to sound like me. I’m determined to be one of the first Asian artists to make it in this industry, and I definitely look forward to breaking some barriers.”
