Morgan Freeman, even with being one of Hollywood’s most memorable actors, has some serious skill when it comes to narration. Viewers will be assured of this as Freeman introduces some of science’s most well-known scholars (a list that includes luminaries like Brian Cox and Michio Kaku) and their interesting takes on different phenomenon. This set, comprising the show’s five best episodes, will give viewers insight into what was present in the universe before we were here, what other life forms may be present, whether time travel is possible, and what matter the universe is made from.

Through the Wormhole’s extensive use of approachable scholars may be what distinguishes this show from shows like NOVA and Universe. While these scholars are by no means suspect, the information that they provide here is a great jumping-off point for anyone that may wish to further increase their knowledge in the field. Of the episodes captured on this set, I feel that “Are We Alone” will be the one that gets the most play in my player.

Where it is easy for shows to speculate about the existence of extraterrestrials, there is more tactile information that exists that can be better used to make a case for “little green men”. The shows are enormously entertaining while still giving viewers fodder to use in debates; I would have to recommend purchasing the Through the Wormhole set for anyone that may be interested in the field or as a holiday/birthday gift for those that may be interested in the future. Here’s to hoping that Through the Wormhole comes back into production and provides viewers with perfectly sized tidbits of a number of the most relevant and important scientific debates out there.
