Since the 2010 release of Fantasia’s Back To Me album, which garnered multi-genre songwriter Claude “Studio Beast” Kelly a Best R&B Song GRAMMY nomination for penning the lead single “Bittersweet,” Claude Kelly has been dominating the pop charts and airwaves with his megahits for Bruno Mars (“Grenade”), Ke$ha (“Take It Off”), Britney Spears (“Gasoline”), and Jessie J (“Price Tag” featuring B.o.B.). In keeping with the Studio Beast’s style and desire to keep music fans guessing as to who he will be writing for next, Claude Kelly once again strikes a chord in R&B with the April 5, 2011 release of “Pieces of Me,” the lead single off of powerhouse vocalist Ledisi’s forthcoming fifth studio album, which was produced by Chuck Harmony and marks the first of three songs penned by Claude Kelly for Ledisi’s upcoming Verve Music Group release.

“Before I started working on this album I had to figure out what I wanted to offer, not only musically, but also spiritually and mentally,” says Ledisi. This can be a seemingly daunting task for any studio bound artist or songwriter, but not for Claude Kelly. Known for his uncanny ability to connect with and understand the mental and emotional states of the artists he works with before translating them into song-a skill beautifully showcased on Fantasia’s comeback album. Because of this Claude Kelly has had the distinction of writing for such diverse artists as Christina Aguilera, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Hudson, Leona Lewis, Adam Lambert, Flo Rida, Fefe Dobson, Lee DeWyze, T.I., David Archuleta, Chrisette Michele, Brandy, R. Kelly, Jesse McCartney, Backstreet Boys, New Kids on the Block, Charice, Melanie Fiona and Jordin Sparks, among others.

With a continuous stream of new single releases like Ledisi’s “Pieces of Me,” Musiq Soulchild’s “Yes,” and NKOTBSB’s “Don’t Turn Out The Lights,” Claude Kelly continues to prove his depth and range as one of today’s hottest and most-sought-after songwriters on the scene in any genre. Stay tuned for future announcements regarding Claude Kelly’s upcoming work with Jonas Brothers heartthrob Joe Jonas and Martina McBride as well as his new artist Masha and R&B/Soul singer Tamia.
